Assigning Tasks to Staff
Tasks in Argonautas connect what needs to be done with the staff member responsible for doing it. Assign tasks based on skills, availability, and property assignments.
Creating a Task
- Navigate to Admin > Staff > Tasks.
- Click Add Task.
- Fill in the details:

| Template | Optional -- attach a checklist template |

- Click Save.
The assigned staff member receives a notification.
Assignment Methods
Direct Assignment
Select a specific staff member from the dropdown. Use this when you know who should handle the task.
By Property
Filter the staff dropdown to show only team members assigned to the property. This ensures the right person for the right location.
By Skill
Some tasks require specific skills (e.g., pool maintenance, electrical work). Staff profiles include skill tags that help you match tasks to qualified team members.
By Availability
Check the staff schedule before assigning. Staff members who are on time off or have a full task load are indicated in the assignment dropdown.
Bulk Task Creation
For turnovers and recurring work:
- Navigate to Admin > Staff > Tasks.
- Click Bulk Create.
- Select a task template.
- Choose the properties (multi-select).
- Set the due date and assignee for each.
- Click Create All.
This is especially useful for checkout day turnovers -- create all cleaning tasks at once for the day's departures.
Notifications
When a task is assigned, the staff member is notified via:
- In-app notification -- Badge appears in the navigation.
- Push notification (if enabled).
- WhatsApp or SMS (if configured for staff communications).
Reassigning Tasks
To move a task to a different staff member:
- Open the task.
- Change the Assigned to field.
- Save.
The original assignee is notified of the reassignment, and the new assignee receives an assignment notification.
Task Due Dates
- Tasks without a due date appear in the "Unscheduled" section.
- Overdue tasks are highlighted in the task list.
- Managers receive notifications for overdue tasks.
Common Questions
Can I assign a task to multiple staff members? Each task has one assignee. For team tasks, create separate tasks for each person or use a shared task with notes.
What if the assigned staff member is unavailable? The system shows availability status in the assignment dropdown. Reassign as needed.
