Property Videos
Property videos help guests visualize the experience before booking. Argonautas provides built-in video hosting, processing, and CDN delivery. Videos appear on the Media tab of the property edit page, alongside the photo gallery.
Uploading a Video
- Open a property and navigate to the Media tab.
- Scroll down to the Videos section below the photo gallery.
- Click Upload Video.
- In the upload dialog:
- Enter a title for the video (required).
- Select a category -- Tour, Drone, Neighborhood, Experience, or Testimonial.
- Drag and drop a video file or click browse to select one.
- Click Upload.

Maximum file size: 500 MB.
Video Processing
After upload, the video is sent for processing. During this time, the video card shows a processing spinner. Processing typically takes 1--3 minutes depending on file size and length.
Once processing completes, the video card displays:
- A thumbnail image generated from the video
- The video duration
- The video category as a badge
If processing fails, the card shows an error indicator with a Retry button.
Previewing Videos
Click the thumbnail of a ready video to open a preview modal with an embedded video player. The player supports play/pause, fullscreen, and picture-in-picture.
Custom Thumbnails
By default, a thumbnail is generated automatically from the video. To choose a more appealing frame:
- Hover over a ready video card and click the camera icon.
- In the thumbnail picker, use the scrub bar to navigate through the video.
- Use the Prev / Next buttons for fine frame-by-frame control.
- When you find the right frame, click Use this frame.
The new thumbnail replaces the auto-generated one everywhere the video appears, including the guest-facing website.
Managing Videos
Reordering
Drag and drop video cards to change their display order. The new order is saved automatically.
Deleting
Hover over a video card and click the trash icon. You will be asked to confirm before the video is removed. Deletion is permanent and removes the video from storage.
Categories
Video categories help organize content and can be used by your guest-facing website to display videos in relevant sections:

Guest-Facing Display
Videos uploaded in Argonautas are available through the Website Publishing API for display on your guest-facing website. Each video includes:
- CDN-hosted stream URL (HLS format for adaptive playback)
- Thumbnail URL
- Embed URL (for iframe-based players)
- Title (multilingual)
- Category and duration
Your website template can use these fields to display a video gallery, embed players, or show video thumbnails alongside property photos.
Common Questions
How many videos can I upload per property?
Each property can have up to 5 videos. This is included with your subscription at no additional charge. The counter next to the Upload button shows how many slots remain.
Can I upload videos longer than 10 minutes?
Yes, as long as the file is under 500 MB. However, shorter videos (1--3 minutes) tend to perform better for property listings.
Do videos sync to OTA channels like Airbnb or Booking.com?
Not currently. OTA channels have limited video support. Videos are primarily for your own guest-facing website and the guest portal.
What happens if processing fails?
Click the Retry button on the failed video card. If the problem persists, try uploading the video again. Common causes of failure include corrupted files or unsupported codecs within an otherwise valid container format.
