Reusing Rate Templates

Season Templates are reusable date ranges that define when each pricing season applies. Create a template once, assign it to any number of properties, then set rates per property within each season. This approach eliminates duplicate date-range entry and keeps your pricing consistent.

The Sequential Workflow

Rate setup in Argonautas follows three steps in order:

1. Create a Season Template -- Define the date range and give it a name and color.
2. Assign properties -- Link one or more properties to that template.
3. Set rates per property -- Enter nightly rates, minimum stay, and discounts for each assigned property.

This order matters. You cannot set rates without a template, and you cannot assign a property without creating the template first.

Creating a Season Template

1. Navigate to Rates > Season Templates.
2. Click Add Template.
3. Enter a name (e.g., "High Season 2026--2027").
4. Choose a color for calendar display.
5. Set the start date and end date.
6. Save.

Templates can overlap between years. A "Green Season" template might run from May 1 through November 30 each year.

Assigning Properties

1. Open a Season Template.
2. Click Assign Properties.
3. Select properties from the list (multi-select supported).
4. Click Save Assignments.

You can also assign from the property side: open a property's rate configuration and select which templates apply.

Bulk Assignment

For companies with many properties, use the bulk assignment view:

1. Navigate to Rates > Property Seasons.
2. Use the Bulk Assign button.
3. Select a template and check the properties to include.
4. Save.

Setting Rates

Once a property is assigned to a template, a Property Season record is created. This record holds the property-specific pricing:

Nightly Rate	Base price per night
Minimum Stay	Minimum nights required
Base Guests	Number of guests included in the nightly rate
Extra Guest Fee	Per-night charge for each guest above the base
Weekly Discount	Percentage off for 7+ night stays
Monthly Discount	Percentage off for 28+ night stays
Weekend Premium	Additional charge for Friday/Saturday nights

Cloning Templates for Next Year

At the start of each planning cycle:

1. Open the template you want to clone.
2. Click Clone Template.
3. Adjust the date range for the new year.
4. Property assignments carry over -- review and modify as needed.
5. Update rates for each property season.

Common Questions

Can I delete a template that has bookings? No. Templates with associated bookings cannot be deleted. Archive them instead.

What happens if two templates overlap for the same property? The system uses the more specific (shorter date range) template. Avoid overlaps when possible.
