Channel Sync Control
The sync control panel manages the flow of data between Argonautas and connected OTA channels (Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO). Control what syncs, when it syncs, and troubleshoot issues.
What Syncs
| Data Type | Direction | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Suite → Channel | Calendar blocks, open dates |
| Rates | Suite → Channel | Nightly rates, min stay, LOS discounts |
| Content | Suite → Channel | Property description, amenities, photos |
| Bookings | Channel → Suite | New reservations, modifications, cancellations |
| Booking status | Suite → Channel | Cancellations initiated in Suite |
Sync Direction
- Outbound (Suite → Channel): Your property data is pushed to the OTA. This includes rates, availability, and content updates.
- Inbound (Channel → Suite): Bookings made on OTAs are pulled into Argonautas automatically.
Manual Sync
Trigger an immediate sync for a specific property:
- Navigate to Channels > Sync Control.
- Select the property.
- Choose the sync type (Availability, Rates, Content, or All).
- Click Sync Now.
- Monitor the status indicator for completion.
Use manual sync after making rate changes or availability updates that need to reach channels immediately.
Sync Status Indicators
| Indicator | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green / Synced | Last sync completed successfully |
| Yellow / Syncing | Sync is currently in progress |
| Red / Error | Last sync encountered an error |
| Gray / Never synced | Property has not been synced yet |
Pausing and Resuming Sync
To temporarily stop sync for a property:
- Navigate to Channels > Sync Control.
- Find the property.
- Click Pause Sync.
- The property's rates and availability will not update on the channel until resumed.
Use with caution: Paused sync can lead to double bookings if the property is still bookable on the channel with stale availability.
To resume, click Resume Sync on the same property.
Sync Queue
When multiple properties have pending updates, they are processed in a queue:
- High-priority items (availability changes) are processed first.
- Rate updates are processed next.
- Content updates (descriptions, photos) are processed last.
- Each sync operation takes a few seconds to minutes depending on the channel.
Understanding Sync Delays
Typical sync timing:
| Change Type | Suite → Channel | Channel → Suite |
|---|---|---|
| New booking | -- | Near-instant (webhook) |
| Availability block | 1--5 minutes | -- |
| Rate change | 1--5 minutes | -- |
| Content update | 5--15 minutes | -- |
Actual timing depends on the channel's API responsiveness.
Sync Logs
View detailed sync history:
- Navigate to Channels > Sync Logs.
- Filter by property, channel, sync type, or date range.
- Each log entry shows: timestamp, property, channel, sync type, status, and any error details.
Use logs to diagnose failed syncs and verify that changes reached the channel.
Common Questions
What happens if a sync fails? Failed syncs are automatically retried. If retries fail, the sync status turns red and the error details are logged. Check Channels > Sync Logs for specifics.
Can I sync all properties at once? Yes. Use the Sync All button on the Sync Control page. This queues a sync for every connected property.
Does pausing sync affect incoming bookings? No. Pausing only stops outbound sync (rates, availability, content). Incoming bookings from channels are always received.
